Based Decision Making Council Parent Member Election Procedure
The following procedure covers the process that governs the election of parents to the Bullitt Central School Based Decision Making Council. There are ( 2 ) parent member openings for the 2008 / 2009 school year.
1. The Bullitt Central High School PTSA will run the election for parent SBDM Council members.
2. The BCPTSA will issue an announcement of acceptance of parent nominations for the B.C. SBDM council and the date of the election in the Pioneer News, to Parent Email list, at www.bcptsa.com & http://ww2.bullittschools.org/bchs as well as the BCHS morning announcements.
3. SBDM Parent nomination forms will be available at the school office from 7:30am to 2:00pm as well as on www.bcptsa.com from 5-2-2008 to 5-8-2008.
3. Completed SBDM Parent Member nomination forms may be turned in to the Bullitt Central High School Office or via email to jaustin5@insightbb.com. All forms must be submitted by 3:00pm Tuesday May 8, 2008.
4. The BCPTSA will collect the completed nomination forms after 3:00pm on May 8, 2008 from the BCHS school office and those submitted via email.
5. The BCPTSA will create a paper ballot which includes a short narrative about each candidate. The ballot will be posted on the www.bcptsa.com & http://ww2.bullittschools.org/bchs, sent via Parent Email list, and will be displayed in the school office for review by 7:30am May 9, 2008.
6. The election will be on Friday May 16, 2008 from 7:00am to 6:00pm at Bullitt Central High School. Only two votes per household. To vote you must be a parent / guardian that will have a child enrolled as a student at Bullitt Central High School in the 2008 / 2009 School Year starting in August 2008.
7. The Ballots shall be counted and verified by the BCPTSA at 6:30pm on May16, 2008.
8. The two parent candidates with the highest number of votes cast ( Plurality Vote ) shall be designated the winners by the BCPTSA.
9. The BCPTSA will inform the Bullitt Central Principal of the winning candidates within 24 hours of the election as well as post the election results to the Parent Emails list, www.bcptsa.com & http://ww2.bullittschools.org/bchs and have it published it in the next edition of Pioneer News.
10. Upon completion of the election the BCPTSA will give all election materials to include; Completed Nomination Forms, Completed Ballots and Tally Sheet indicating the winning candidates to the Principal / Chairman of the SBDM for storage for 3 years with the other SBDM records.

Qualifications: A parent council member shall be a parent,
stepparent, foster parent or legal guardian of a student attending the school
during the 2008 / 2009 School Year.

A parent is ineligible if he/she is an employee or a relative of
an employee (father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, son daughter,
aunt, uncle, son-in-law, daughter-in-law) of that school or for the district
central office, or a local school board member or the spouse of a school board
member.

Parents may nominate themselves or another parent if the other
parent accepts to serve on the council.
